Before the Painting: Drawing is a foundational workshop for anyone who wants to paint realistically but isn’t sure how to begin. Through guided exercises, learn how to truly see what you’re drawing using sighting, measuring, shading, and perspective to build accuracy and confidence. Explore composition basics, thumbnail sketching, and how to plan a painting from start to finish, working from still-life objects and photo references. Bring images you’ve always wanted to draw or paint. The workshop will flex to student interests, with the goal of leaving you with a stronger foundation and a clear path toward successful painting.
