Day 1:  Trace Monotype: portrait print exchange
Play with your multiple artistic interests through the trace monotype print, a process that merges printmaking with drawing and photography. Bring in an array of several self-‐portrait images to use as a matrix in the creation of unique and interesting prints. Everyone will trade prints with fellow students, forming an exchange portfolio of your own artist community that extends beyond the workshop experience.

Day 2: Make a Recycled Sketchbook
Using all of the scrap material we generated the first day of printing, students will learn the process to create one-‐of-‐a-‐kind books that have a variety of uses. We will turn ‘oops’ prints into the book cover, used newsprint becomes the interior pages, and then bind it all together by hand or on the sewing machine. Super useful, and they make awesome gifts too!
