SUMMARY:Exhibition: Chris Hassig
DESCRIPTION:On view: November 6 to December 4\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Saturday\, November 7 from 5 PM- 7 PM\n \n  \nChris Hassig (b. 1987) is an artist and community leader based in Carbondale\, Colorado\, whose intricate drawings and prints blur the boundaries between landscape\, abstraction\, and imagined worlds. Rooted in a lifelong fascination with mapping and mark-making\, Hassig’s work ranges from expansive multi-panel etchings of his fictional country\, Saiopor\, to densely detailed ink drawings inspired by close observations of nature. His practice merges precision and play\, incorporating printmaking\, cyanotype\, collage\, and sewn elements that highlight both meticulous craftsmanship and improvisation.\ \n\nThank you to our generous 2026 Annual Exhibition Sponsor\, Alpine Bank

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Rachel Becker "Net-work: Weaving the World"
DESCRIPTION:On view: November 6 to December 4\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Saturday\, November 7 from 5 PM- 7 PM\n \n  \nRachel Becker brings a series that explores weaving\, webs\, and networks as structures that connect\, hold\, and move vital energy. Constructed from found and foraged materials: branches\, plant fibers\, fishing line\, and produce netting\, the lightweight hanging sculptures reference nets\, tapestries\, and natural systems. Installed as an immersive canopy\, the works invite visitors to step inside the visible and invisible networks that shape our world\, from mycelial pathways to the “World Wide Web.” Drawing inspiration from ancient textile traditions and the mythic weaver goddesses of pre-medieval Europe\, the project reflects on how the threads of fate\, ecology\, and technology intertwine. \n\nThank you to our generous 2026 Annual Exhibition Sponsor\, Alpine Bank

Classes emphasize creativity\, curiosity\, and self-expression rather than perfection\, helping young artists build confidence\, take creative risks\, and enjoy the process of making art. \nIn a supportive and encouraging environment\, students will try new materials\, make new friends\, and experience the joy of creating something uniquely their own. \nAn Art Base staff member will meet enrolled students at the BES flagpole immediately after school and walk them to the Art Base. Parents and caregivers should pick up students at the Art Base at the end of class. \nTo help give as many children as possible the opportunity to participate in Free Art After School\, please register your child for only one session of classes. \nQuestions about Art After School? Please contact Holly at holly@theartbase.org.
